题目一:Integration of Novel Tools for Wheat and Triticale Breeding

报告人:Dr. Harpinder Singh Randhawa

报告人简介:

    Dr. Harpinder Singh Randhawa:a spring wheat and triticale breeder working at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. He joined his PhD program at the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, in 1998. In 2002, he became a post-doctoral Fellow at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and later at Washington State University, Pullman. Dr. Randhawa focused his research to develop new wheat genomics tools, novel strategies for rapid introgression of traits using marker assisted backcrossing, genetic and physical mapping of agronomically important traits in wheat and eventually developing improved wheat cultivars. Since 2007, Dr. Randhawa has been working as a spring wheat and triticale breeder with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada at the Lethbridge Research Centre, Alberta. His prime focus of research is to develop spring wheat cultivars that are high yielding with excellent end use quality and resistance to various biotic and abiotic stresses in western Canada. He has developed eight high yielding spring wheat cultivars and co-developed four high yielding triticale cultivars for general production in western Canada. His other research interests include the identification of new sources of disease resistance in wheat, genetic mapping, doubled haploid production, and new breeding tools. He has published over 45 research articles in the international journals.

题目二:小黑麦产业优势与育种策略调整

报告人:王增远 研究员

报告人简介:
    王增远,中国农业科学院作物科学研究所研究员,现研究方向为小黑麦遗传育种。先后负责国家“863”计划、农业科技跨越计划、国家攻关、省部级重大推广项目和国际合作研究项目,主持承担的项目在推动农业结构调整,优化作物种植模式,创新饲料小黑麦育种理论与方法,创造饲料小黑麦育种材料,培育和推广优质专用饲料小黑麦新品种及保护农业生态环境等方面均取得突出成绩。主持承担的项目获得省部级科技进步二等奖2项(第一完成人),三等奖2项(第三完成人);培育优质专用饲料小黑麦新品种4个(通过国审);在国内外学术刊物发表论文40余篇。
